Join the Library

Membership of the Wimmera Regional Library Corporation is available to all Victorians.

An application form must be completed and proof of identity and current address is required. Children under 18 years of age need to have their application form signed by a parent or guardian, and also need permission if they wish to use library computers.

Temporary membership is available for interstate or overseas visitors to the region. Please ask staff members for details.

Conditions of Membership

Loan Periods & Limits

At static branches, books and talking books have a loan period of 28 days, and vidoes, CDs, CD-ROMs, DVDs and magazines have a loan period of 7 days.

On the Mobile library all items have a loan period of 28 days. (Please note that Mobile library customers who borrow from a static branch are subject tot he loan period of that branch.)

Renewals & Returns

Items on loan may be renewed twice, provided no other customer is waiting for the item. Renewals after this are at the discretion of branch staff. Items can be renewed by calling the branch library (please have your library card with you), calling into the branch, or via the Online catalogue. (Login using your full Library card number and PIN, go to "My Account" and "Renew My Materials").

Library items may be returned after hours via the book return chutes. Books from one branch of the library may be returned at any other branch.

Library Charges

Fines apply for all items overdue.

There is a grace period of 7 days (14 days for the mobile library) and if items are returned within this time period no fines will apply. After this the fines will be calculated from the day the item was due back.

A reminder notice about overdue library materials will be sent out two weeks after the items are due. If there is no response to this letter, a bill requesting payment for the cost of the items will be sent.
